Can IE compete on a level playing field?
(Cnet)
Level playing field? How so?
Can you now buy a Microsoft OS with Firefox instead of IE?
Can you now buy a Microsoft OS with Opera instead of IE?
The simple true is that Microsoft continues to violate US Antitrust laws with the approval of both the US DOJ and the EU Commission. Nothing has changed. And nothing has been done to benefit consumers either.
The ballot screen might be helpful to those who either did not know they could download copies of Opera, Firefox or Chrome without cost but they all still must purchase IE first.
Only fools and idiots think that being forced to buy IE first somehow equates to a fair and open marketplace. Fools indeed.
Imagine what it would be like if the only job you could get had to be first filled by the companies nephew. Then you could also work if you contributed your time without compensation.
Fair and open competition requires that IE be removed from the OS and competitors given equal opportunity in the marketplace. Not this kind of fake solution designed to continue to force all consumers to purchase IE regardless.
